AC Cybersecurity Event Highlights Student Voice and Hands-On Learning

Amarillo College’s Innovation Outpost became a hub of exploration and discovery last Tuesday as more than 50 students, educators, and community members gathered for an immersive cybersecurity experience. Hosted by the College’s Computer Information Systems (CIS) program, the event featured live cyberattack simulations, industry-grade analytics tools, and a “Lunch and Learn” spotlighting AC student Zai’Channel Anderson.

AC Fire Academy to Celebrate Graduation of Future Firefighters

The newest cadets, who have completed months of intensive training in preparation for careers in firefighting and emergency response, will graduate from Amarillo College’s Regional Fire Academy this weekend.The graduation ceremony will take place at noon Saturday, May 10 the AmTech Career Academy at 3601 Plains Blvd., in Amarillo. Family, friends, and community members are invited to join in celebrating the accomplishments of these future first responders.

Dual credit students at AC qualify for state in machine programming events

Six Amarillo College dual credit students who currently attend AmTech Career Academy have qualified for state competition in computer numerical control (CNC) machining events.

The qualifiers earned the right to compete at the state level based on the excellent results they achieved while competing at the SkillsUSA District 3 Leadership & Skills Conference at South Plains College in February.
